BIENNIAL PARALLEL Artists: Eda Akaltun, Ipek Altunmaral, Burak Arikan, Sena Cevik, Lauro Govoni, Hakan Hisim, Devrim Kadirbeyoglu, Katja Loher, Esra Oskay, Nurcan Ozagi, Fatih Ozcelik, Aysegul Turk, Ozlem Uzun, Deniz Uster, Serhan Yavas. Tershane is a contemporary artist collective based in Tuzla Istanbul, Turkey. Founders Ugur Kose and Sena Cevik gathered dynamic and talented multi media artists from around the world for 'Factory Day's II', a week long contemporary art production workshop. Between 8/25 - 8/31, 2007; 70 artists collaborated to render the economical, historical and cultural meanings that exist between the periphery and its center. Investigating migration, artists created works in diverse mediums from installation to video, painting, photography, performance, music, to new media and illustration. 'Biennial Parallel' is a sequence to 'Factory Days II', showcasing 15 Tershane artists at 2 unconventional buildings in Istanbul which ran parallel to the 10th Istanbul Biennial. Curious?
